Languages, Frameworks, Api Wrappers - Seems like a new one is born every week
My natural inclination, when it came time for choosing a particular language or
framework amounted to a combination of
- Company I worked for (what are they already using - i.e. what I was hired for)
- What skills do I already have that relate? (which points to my
choice to learn Django before learning Rails, since I had already known Python)
- What you kinda have to know, because it's everywhere (javascript, css)
Though I never close the learn-new-stuff door on emerging technologies - and thus
stay open to the benefits of new skills - I tend more to stay focused on
improving my grasp on my current skillset.
